Description
iVet's Nylon Surgical Sutures are made with polyamide. They are non-absorbable, monofilament, uncoated, and the threads are Blue-dyed
The four available thread sizes are:
4/0 ; 3/0 ; 2/0 ; 0 .
Suture length is 75 cm (29.5-in)
The Nylon Sutures are most often used as percutaneous sutures because of their very low tissue reactivity. They are excellent for general soft tissue approximation or ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological procedures.
The Suture Needle is 3/8 circle-shaped and round-bodied, making it perfect for crucial procedures such as tendon repair, where suture cutout would be disastrous. A blunt-point, round-body needle dilates rather than cuts and is preferred in abdominal fascial closure, to prevent inadvertent visceral injury and bleeding.
iVet's Nylon Sutures have a monofilament structure that is considerably more resistant to harboring microorganisms. It also exhibits less resistance to passage through tissue than multifilament suture does.
