The Anigen Rapid Rabies Ag Test Kit by BIONOTE is a rapid immunochromatographic diagnostic test for the qualitative detection of Rabies virus antigen in fresh brain tissue.
The test uses specific antibodies against Rabies virus and provides a visual result through the appearance of a test line and control line. Results are interpreted at 5–10 minutes.
The kit is intended for veterinary use and can be used with fresh brain tissue specimens from dogs, cattle, and raccoon dogs.

General Test Procedure
- Collect approximately 1 g of brain tissue into the sample tube.
- Use the supplied swab to rub and homogenize the tissue until it forms a smooth paste.
- Insert the swab into the assay diluent tube and mix thoroughly.
- Place the test device on a flat, dry surface.
- Using the supplied dropper, transfer 4 drops of the prepared sample into the sample hole.
- Allow the sample to develop.
- Read the result at 5–10 minutes.
- Do not interpret results after 20 minutes.
Result Interpretation
Positive:
Both the C (Control) line and T (Test) line appear. This indicates detection of Rabies virus antigen.
Negative:
Only the C (Control) line appears.
Invalid:
The C (Control) line does not appear. The test should be repeated using a new test device.
Storage & Handling
- Store at 2–30°C
- Do not freeze
- Keep away from direct sunlight
- Use the test device immediately after removing it from the foil pouch
- Do not use after the expiration date
- Do not use if the foil pouch is damaged or the seal is broken
- Do not mix components from different lot numbers
Important Diagnostic Note
This is a qualitative screening/diagnostic test for Rabies virus antigen. Although the test is designed for accurate detection, false results can occur. A negative result does not completely rule out infection, and suspected or questionable results should be evaluated using appropriate confirmatory laboratory testing.
All specimens should be treated as potentially infectious. Appropriate protective equipment and safe handling/disposal procedures must be followed.
